Red Panda (1)
Red Panda or the scientific name Ailurus fulgens is a kind of mammal in the order Carnivora. As the name implies, the Red Panda have fur thick brownish red in color and black-legged. His face is round white with brownish red line from eye to mouth.Long tail with a ring of twelve red and brown criss-cross-young. Tread feet covered by white fur, which is useful to keep the body warm and to walk on snow or ice surface.
This species was originally described to the world of knowledge in 1825. Red Panda taxonomic classification has long created controversy. Previously placed in the tribe of the Red Panda bear family Ursidae because it has similarities with beruangPanda, both have five fingers with an extra finger next five fingers. Extra finger is a modified wrist bone. Red pandas are also placed in a single tribe Ailuridae. But now this species is placed in sukuProcyonidae, its resemblance to species of animals in the raccoon family. Red Panda is the only species in single genus subsuku Ailurinae and Ailurus.
Regional distribution of the Red Panda is in Central Asia. This species is found in the forest Himalayas, Bhutan, People's Republic of China, India, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal.Red Panda is active in the morning and dusk. In the afternoon, they were sleeping and resting on a branch. Although carnivores have digestive systems, like Red Panda has a habit of herbivorous animals. Its main food is bamboo, and including various fruits, roots, grass, berries and other vegetation. For extra nutrition, Red Panda also eat eggs, young birds, insects and small animals.Red pandas are usually female panda gave birth to two kittens. Panda kids was blind at birth, and began to look after three weeks of age. The adult male has no role in child rearing pandas. Red panda males are territorial animals, they mark the area with their hormones menggesekan sac in the objects found in the wild.
Based on the loss of forest habitat and illegal arrests that continued to trade and for their fur, and the areas and populations where the species is found is limited, the Red Panda evaluated as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The species is listed in CITES Appendix I.

Polar Bear
Polar bears or bear ice or in the scientific name Ursus maritimus is a large mammalin the rules of biology margakeluarga Ursidae. He included Circumpolar speciescontained in the most northern continents around the earth, which Arctic continent andincludes most carnivorous bear among other bear family. Polar bears are sometimesalso classified as marine mammals.
Male polar bears weigh between 400-600 pounds and can sometimes reach morethan 800 kg with a height of more than 2.5 meters. Meanwhile, a female polar bearweight is only half of the male bear weighing between 200-300 kg and about 2 metershigh. Polar bears have a very keen sense of smell. they can smell the dead whale orseal from a distance of 20 miles.
Polar bears are powerful swimmers can swim as far as 60 miles without stopping. They used to swim front leg and rear leg as a rudder. Oil glands in the skin canlubricate their feathers well be water resistant and made her body remained dryduring the swim.
In the summer in the Arctic, especially in the month of May-June, fur - a thick bear furbegan to fall to keep the body temperature remains stable.
FoodPolar bears are the main food of fish and seals. They are patient when hunting animals, waiting for prey (seals) that were diving for hours - hours until the target jumped to the mainland and then immediately attacked by a bear. Strength paralyze its prey is in sharp bear claws and a powerful blow from his paw.An adult polar bear fat requires the assumption of 2kg per day in order to survive at a temperature of the cold. A dog weighing 55kg sea to meet the reserve food for polar bears to survive for 8 days.
ReproductionMating season for polar bears occur in summer in the Arctic, ie between the months of March to June. Then the baby - a baby polar bear to be born in the month of December to January, usually they will give birth to 2-3 babies.
During pregnancy, the mother bear will dig a nest in a pile of snow and even sleep all winter in the nest until the baby - a baby bear was born. However, the mother bear did not feel dehydrated or short of food to feed a baby - a baby bear who has been born. The baby - the baby will live in the nest for approximately 28 months. The new baby polar bear born only for rats. It has no fur, blind, and weak at all. A female Polar bears mammals proved to be a parent greatest devotion in terms of keeping the child - their child.
Living HabitatIn general, polar bears live individually. However, female polar bears will live in groups to protect each other when they are pregnant and at will in search of food.Female polar bears will usually live along the Arctic coast, while the male bear to stay on top of chunks - chunks of ice and floating - floating in the sea about 180 miles away from the beach.Polar Bear is essentially an active animal and not at all afraid of human presence.
FactAccording to a statement from the Institute of the United States Geological Survey (USGS, two-thirds of polar bear populations will become extinct in the mid 21st century. In recent decades the North Pole (Arctic) will lose a very large ice sheets. The experts even estimate that 40 percent of the habitat of polar bears will be destroyed in 2050.Therefore, in the late 1990s, the community development society in Chocrane region, Canada, founded The Polar Bear Conservation and Education Habitat and Heritage Village. Non-profit rehabilitation centers are designed specifically to protect polar bears. Opened for 365 days without rest to all the people who care about polar bear populations are threatened with extinction, to gain knowledge, learning, and direct experience of caring for polar bears.

Brown Bear
Brown bear is one of the bears. Brown bear can weigh 130-700 kg (300-1500pounds). There are several subspecies of brown bear, among others: Syrian brownbear, brown bear Kodiak, Alaska Brown Bear, Brown Bear Grizzly Bear and Mexico.
The awe-inspiring brown bear lives in the forests and mountains of northern North America, Europe, and Asia. It is the most widely distributed bear in the world.
These omnivorous giants tend to be solitary animals, except for females and their cubs, but at times they do congregate. Dramatic gatherings can be seen at prime Alaskan fishing spots when the salmon swim upstream for summer spawning. In this season dozens of bears may gather to feast on the fish, craving fats that will sustain them through the long winter ahead. In fall a brown bear may eat as much as 90 pounds (40 kilograms) of food each day, and it may weigh twice as much before hibernation as it will in spring.
Brown bears dig dens for winter hibernation, often holing up in a suitable hillside. Females, or she-bears, den while pregnant and give birth during this winter rest, usually to a pair of cubs. Brown bear cubs nurse on their mother's milk until spring and stay with her for some two and a half years—so females only reproduce once every three years.
Adult brown bears are powerful, top-of-the-food chain predators, but much of their diet consists of nuts, berries, fruit, leaves and roots. Bears also eat other animals, from rodents to moose.
The world's largest brown bears are found in coastal British Columbia and Alaska, and on islands such as Kodiak.
Despite their enormous size, brown bears are extremely fast, having been clocked at speeds of 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour). They can be dangerous to humans, particularly if surprised or if a person gets between a mother bear and her cubs.

Honey Bears 2
Habitat Honey bears live in tropical rain forests around Asia Honey bears live in primary forests, secondary forests and often also on agricultural lands, they are usually located in a tree at a height of 2-7 meters from the ground, and likes to break the branches of a tree or make it curved to create a nest. Honey bear habitat are in areas of Southeast Asia's tropical rain. The distribution is contained on the island of Borneo, Sumatra, Indochina, South China, Burma and the Malay Peninsula. Hence this type do not require another period of hibernation like bears living in the area of four seasons. Sun bears in the past known spread to almost all continents of Asia, but is now becoming increasingly rare due to habitat loss and fragmentation.
Food Honey bears are omnivorous animals that eat anything in the forest. They eat a variety of fruit and tropical rain forest plants, including plant shoots jenispalem. They also eat insects, honey, birds and other small animals. When the sun bear eating the fruit, seeds swallowed whole, so it is not broken, after a bowel movement, seed that is in the dirt began to grow so that sun bears have a very important role as a disseminator of stone fruit plants such as similar to jackfruit, durian, lahung, kerantungan and many other species. In areas that have been disturbed by humans, they would destroy farmland, destroying banana, papaya or other garden plants.
Behavior Honey Bears a solitary life in the wild. Honey bears are nocturnal or also called nocturnal creatures, they spend time on the ground and climb trees to find food. Except for females with children, sun bears are generally solitary. They do not hibernate as any other bear species because their feed resources available throughout the year. In one day a bear walking an average of 8 km to find food. Honey bear behavior that is exploring and unpacking is also beneficial to accelerate the process of decomposition and recycling is very important for tropical rain forest. Sun bears are also very involved in forest regeneration as seed dispersers of fruits, and is renowned as an accomplished tree climbers. Its shy, reclusive life, active in the daytime with the needs of a broad ranges.
Breeding Honey bear mating season but has no marriage performed at any time especially when the female bear is ready to mate. Old containing female polar bears is 95-96 days, children who are born usually amounted to two male and breastfed for 18 months. Sometimes, the female polar bears only be seen with a baby and very rarely found to carry two babies after a pregnancy. It is very possible because the sun bears deliberately delay marriage to pursue for a baby is born when the parent has enough weight, the appropriate weather and food are available in adequate amounts. Bears give birth in a nest in the form of caves or tree holes where babies are born without fur and are still very weak to survive. The baby will remain in the nest until he was able to walk with its mother for food. Baby bears in the suspect lived with their mother until the age of two years and then start living independently.
The threat to bears Honey bears have been categorized as vulnerable animals and threatened its survival. This is due to habitat destruction that took place continuously. Biggest threats to sun bears is habitat loss in the form of the tropical rain forest, including forest fragmentation and forest degradation caused by human behavior such as illegal logging and forest clearing for rubber plantations, oil palm and coffee. Another threat for the sun bear is the hunt, both the region and outside the protection of protected areas, parts of the body such as the honey bear bile and fluid katung heavily traded illegally to meet the market demand for traditional medicine. In addition, the conflict between human and bears related to the destruction of agricultural areas is also a threat to the bears of this type. Natural disasters such as forest fires also influenced the survival of bears because they relate closely to the preservation of habitat and food availability.
Conservation Conservation Honey bears are still very rare. This bear has been listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) since 1979 which states that they should not be hunted by anyone. Further research on sun bears is being done, especially on basic-dasarbiologis, ecology, and behavior. Conservation bears need to be focused on the protection of forest habitats, good management of the field of protection of sun bear, the rule of law is firmly associated with the violation of the protection of sun bear, stop trade in bear body parts, and reduce conflicts between humans and bears in the forest.
